The Isle of Campinho with its 230 inhabitants is part of the Peninsula of Maraú which is surrounded by 40 km of magnificent beaches. Because it is part of a national park (APA), its vegetation is still virtually intact.

To get to the Pousada Curumim , first go to Camamú. It is the main harbour of the bay from which it derived its name. It’s easy to find secure parking in Camamú and the boats to Campinho leave here. If you want to take the most scenic view, take a fisher boat which takes approx. 1h 20 min. If you’re in a hurry, a motorboat will get you to Campinho in 30 min

If you come from the direction of Salvador de Bahía there are several different possibilities to reach Camamú:
First, you can cross the “Baía de Todos os Santos” by ferry (by car or on foot) and then, if you go by car, you follow the BA 001 until Camamú. If you are travelling without a car, take a bus at the bus station “Bom Despacho”.

Further alternatives:
Charter a sailing boat directly from Salvador to the Bay of Camamú where you can find optimal points to anchor.
Real adventurers can even reach the Ilha de Campinho and the Pousada Curumim overland . Just follow the BR 030, which crosses the BR 101 in Ubaitaba. But before you choose this route, make sure you check information about weather and road conditions because the road leads over 90 km of infrequently maintained sand tracks

What you need: Light clothing, swim suits and accessories like sun hats, sun lotion and bug protection, and a lot of enthusiasm to discover the way the Bahian people live.
And don’t forget: Diving masks and snorkel equipment and solid shoes for excursions on small jungle trails
